Although quads emerged as a vehicle halfway between a motorcycle and a car to be effective on different terrains, they have undergone different transformations to reach all audiences. It’s basically a motorcycle with handlebars and four wheels, as opposed to a buggy, which is like an automatic off-road car with a steering wheel.
That is why in recent years it has been quickly dethroned by buggys.

Among the main evolutionary differences we find:
Comfort
In a quad the driver and passenger share a seat behind each other, without the possibility of a backrest for the driver
Buggies are also called “side by side” because both driver and passenger are located side by side. Each has a seat belt
The suspensions in buggies are designed to have the least possible impact on the driver and his passenger, when in the quad, all the imperfections of the terrain, whether potholes, stones or slopes, are cushioned in the driver’s arms, in his body especially in the lumbar area, and he must have control over the vehicle resulting in making an extra effort to be able to maintain balance in it.
Safety
As we have already mentioned, in the buggy we find seats and a seat belt for each passenger. On the other hand, in the quad, one is free, with the passengers’ bodies bearing the impact in the event of an accident
It is worth noting that, in a buggy, we are protected by a metal “box” formed by the roll bars, which protect the occupants against possible accidents, making it safer than a conventional car or SUV.
EASE OF DRIVING
Another advantage with a quad bike is that the buggy has two pedals, accelerator and brake, which acts as a clutch.
The buggy has a steering wheel that, unlike the quad, has a handlebar.
It is clear that having the type B driving license that we require as a rule, adapting to driving the buggy is much easier than on a quad.
In general, first-time quad riders believe that it is similar to riding a motorcycle, this idea being more than wrong. The movements on the handlebars to turn on a motorcycle and on a quad are different. The bike must lean and the quad cannot be tilted, so the technique is different.
Another disadvantage of the quad in driving compared to the buggy is that the throttle is located on the right thumb. All the force is done only on one finger, being very uncomfortable when making long excursions through different places since the muscle is not used to it.
